Courtship is a relationship between a man and a woman in which they seek to determine if it is God’s will for them to marry each other.Under the protection, guidance, and blessing of parents or mentors, the couple concentrates on developing a deep friendship that could lead to marriage, as they discern their readiness for marriage and God’s timing for their marriage.First things first, let's separate how the world views dating from how God wants us to handle the period of time before a couple gets married.According to 2 Peter -20, God's way is totally contradictory to the way the world says unmarried couples should act.While dating can be more casual in nature, courtship has a decidedly more serious goal in mind: marriage.So unless your goal is to ultimately make a commitment to marry, courtship is not for you. However, they go into the relationship hoping to find out if they are truly meant to be together forever. Then we had our own 8 children and before we knew it – the subject of girls, boys, love, and marriage came up. While it’s tempting to try and tuck love into some tidy box, it will never work like that. Rather than depending on someone else’s “step-by-step”, listen to the Spirit and how He is guiding. The world wants you to think that your happiness depends on finding the perfect guy – or girl. If you are a believer in Christ, then your joy is found in Him. Read the classic love stories found there, follow the instruction of the New Testament, and don’t forget the wisdom found in the book of Proverbs.
And that’s when we discovered the concept of and I thought all our problems were solved. So just for the record – while there are many benefits to courtship – it does not answer all the questions.
That’s what I told our family friend who was concerned that I wasn’t dating at the age of 26. It’s just that I found the whole dating scene rather depressing.
So one solution to this dilemma is to avoid the subject altogether and remain single.
Dating and courting are basically the same thing—just different terms.

”I don’t know, but I sure wished there was another way. No need to be in a big, fat hurry DO take the time to assess the other person’s character. So don’t convince yourself that you know it all and understand everything.
